Artist Statement

My biggest influence is my step mom Sharon Hitchcock from Haida Gwaii. She did all mediums: canvas, silver, gold, argillite with Bill Reid, masks. My aunt Loretta introduced me to cedar weaving and I have not stopped since. Struggling with my aboriginal heritage has impacted my passion as well.

Bio

I come from the Tsawwassen First Nation and Haida Nation and married into the Musqueam Nation. My work has been displayed at the Olympic Four Host Pavilion and my regalia was worn by the Musqueam Nation at the Olympics.

I have also started a weaving group called Weaving Our Community Together.

I am a mother of five beautiful children. They are my rock. My family keeps me strong
