Artist Statement

We may choose a piece of jewelry for its beauty, but beyond their beauty they carry meaning and energy. Each stone carries its own metaphysical properties. They are formed by the efforts of the earth and time.

Lorna O’Grady is a member of the Metis Nation BC. She was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba, grew up in Saskatchewan and moved to British Columbia in 1978. Lorna moved to the lower mainland in 1989 and currently resides in North Vancouver.

Lorna enjoys making beautiful jewelry using healing crystals with her focus on making bracelets. She was introduced to beading in 2008. Lorna’s designs are comfortable enough to wear every day, yet a perfect touch for a special event. She works with everything from turquoise, rose quartz, red coral, black onyx and more.
